At a circuit that saw the Malaysian rider achieve his best result in his rookie year, the Malaysian rider will be looking to raise the bar and better his results ahead of his home Grand Prix in just over two weeks’ time.
#7 Adam Norrodin
“We have three back-to-back races ahead of us and then the finale at Valencia, so we cannot miss collecting anymore points. The Championship is tight for me, so we have to really focus on getting good results at these last races. Last year we had a good race in Japan and I finished 12th, so my confidence is high right now. I like the track a lot! I’m confident we can do even better this time. I will fight for my best position of the season; I want to be in the top five. It’s very important to me that we find a good momentum this weekend so that I can go to my home GP in Malaysia with a strong mentality and on top form.”
#71 Ayumu Sasaki
“I feel very excited for my home GP and my first race there in the World Championship. Of course there are more nerves than when I go to the other races because I want to do my best in front of my home crowd and not let anyone down.
We are getting closer to the front every race, so I’m pretty confident I can find that little bit more needed in Motegi to finish in my best position of the year. I think it will be tough but at least I know the track already quite well; when I was young I was riding there a lot.
In practice I must really focus again to be fast from the start and do more laps on my own. I want to go into qualifying strong and get a good starting position for the race; then it’s down to me to fight.”
